"The three main things that are important to me when I put new strings on my bows are:

1.  String stretch.  If they stretch, your cams are out of time which allows you to not be consistent. 

2. Peep rotation.  I like to know that when I draw my bow back that it will be right there consistently every time.

3. Serving separation.  This exposes the string material around the cams and could cause strings getting cut.
